Reputation Changes on the Test Realms
While researching profession changes, our intrepid scouts found some interesting changes related to reputation and quests. Quest reputation gains have greatly increased. Quests which originally yielded ~100 rep now give 250. Originally, we thought this was just a boost for beta, but apparently this is tied in with Blizzard’s stated desire to reduce the amount of faction grinding people needed to do. Also, reputation rewards now seem to honor the “green range” of quests (possibly what the patch notes mean by: “Fixed an issue where high level players were not being properly credited the right amount of faction reputation”). Rather than dropping off after a 5 level difference, quests now give full reputation rewards as long as they are green. Currently, we’re assuming that reputation drop off after the green range remains unchanged (-20% per level until bottoming out at 10% at green range + 5).
The Master Leatherworking and Engineering trainers have not added any recipes. The specialty trainers (Gnome/Goblin Engineering, Blacksmithing) have added several Master-class (305+) skill recipes. Still no sign of tailoring or alchemy specialization trainers/quests, but we’ll keep looking.
For all those in the US - a safe and blessed Thanksgiving to you!
