More Post-Patch info!
Here’s more information as the patch dust settles.
A bug in Auctioneer’s Enhanced Tooltip (EnhTooltip) plugin caused the Auctioneer tooltip box to overlap the main tooltip. A patched version of EnhTooltip may be downloaded here (pending an official release). Fizzwidget’s AdSpace has been updated with 1.9 vendor information. And ReagentData has been updated as well!
The need to open the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj has war effort collectors setting up shop in Ironforge (and Orgrimmar). These provide quests that yield items and tokens (”Alliance Commendation Signets”). The goal is to collect (among all the players on the server of both factions) a certain amount of raw materials. The first turn-in of each kind per player yields 10 tokens and a supply box. Subsequent turn-ins receive 1/3/5/7/10 tokens (depending on the level of the turn-in) and a supply box. The supply boxes usually contain 2-3 items, one or two a scroll and the other a green (or blue!) item. The level of the item is dependant on the type of material being turned in - higher level material yields higher level items. You may trade 10 tokens for 75 rep with any of the Alliance factions via representatives in the capital cities (Ironforge actually has representatives from all races, so it’s a convenient one-stop shop). You can also trade a single token for 5 rep (so it is beneficial to save up 10 tokens). In addition, the marshal will exchange 10-30 tokens for a supply box containing a better item (varies with level). The materials required for the war effort are:
- 1st tier (yields items for levels ~10, 1 token on repeat): 10 Light Leather, 20 Copper Bars, 20 Linen Bandages, 20 Cooked Rainbow Fin Albacore [Horde: 20 Peacebloom]
- 2nd tier (yields items for levels ~20, 3 tokens on repeat): 10 Medium Leather, 20 Stranglekelp, 20 Roast Raptor [Horde: 20 Tin Bars, 20 Wool Bandages]
- 3rd tier (yields items for levels ~35, 5 tokens on repeat): 20 Iron Bars, 20 Purple Lotus, 20 Silk Bandages [Horde: 10 Heavy Leather, 20 Tender Wolf Steak]
- 4th tier (yields items for levels ~45, 7 tokens on repeat): 10 Thick Leather, 20 Cooked Spotted Yellowtail [Horde: 20 Firebloom, 20 Mithril Bars, 20 Mageweave Bandages]
- 5th tier (yields items for levels ~55, 10 tokens on repeat): 20 Thorium Bars, 20 Arthas’ Tears, 20 Runecloth Bandages [Horde: 20 Rugged Leather, 20 Baked Salmon]
As you might imagine, this has caused substantial inflation for these goods in the AH (linen going for 1g a stack…). Also note that you can now gain reputation just by fishing! Also, Iron and Purple Lotus began in the “Additional” phase for our reporters (no initial 10 token quest) and the Thorium vendor wasn’t accepting anything for characters below ~L37.
