Invasion trickles to a close
On servers across the multiverse, the cry goes up - “The Scourge has been driven back! The Invasion is over! Now what???”
As has been reported in the forums, when a server reaches 150 battles won, the Invasion ends (as of this writing, Garona has 131, so the Invasion will likely end for us tonight). The necropolises float off to wherever they park when not in use, the new Scourge instance bosses sneak away, and the Argent Dawn presence pulls back. At Light’s Hope Chapel, the temporary alliance of the Brotherhood of the Argent Crusade (or whatever they’re calling themselves) continues in force, so the Insigniae quests remain. However, the Argent presence in the capital cities has pulled back and Commander Helleran has taken a sabbatical along with the Keeper of the Rolls (so if you have letters or Necrotic Runes you need turned in, now might be a good time). Blizzard has assured us that a way to redeem Necrotic Runes will be added shortly for those who still have them banked (with the departure of the shards, there’s no way to earn new ones).
In general, folks seem to agree that the event went better than the AQ Gate Opening, but were disappointed that the “victory conditions” weren’t better advertised in advance. Unlike AQ, there’s every possibility that this event is repeatable, perhaps at the solstices when “the barriers ‘twixt dark and light are thin”.
