Horde characters can now meet Ahab Wheathoof and his dog Kyle in Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore. He offers a quest (”[7] Kyle’s Gone Missing!”) to retrieve Tender Strider Meat to feed Kyle. 20 June 2007 - Patch 2.1.2 Arrives to Open the New Arena Season

Arena Season 2 has opened, reducing prices of Honor and Arena items to encourage more participation in the organized PvP events. As always, patch notes can be found here. The interface number hasn’t changed so all 2.1-compatible addons should load without modification.

BlizzCon 2007 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California (across the street from that other fantastical realm run by Disney). 2 June 2007 - Still more post-2.1 news - Flight of the Phoenix

Our good friends over at Allakhazam have reported a sighting of a new phoenix elite-speed flying mount as one of the items possibly dropped by Kael’thas Sunstrider. Congrats to Korlic of Method on Sunstrider EU. Drop rate on this amazing ride is projected to be below 5%, so happy raiding!

For those who happen to be grinding Bogflare Needlers in northern Zangarmarsh, be on the lookout for a new dropped pet! A Firefly (”Still flying…”) can be summoned by a Captured Firefly (rare drop). Drop rates seems to be about 1% from current reports. Observant fans will catch the reference to the short-lived SF series.

Patch 2.1 is finally moving off the test servers to the real realms, which means Children’s Week, a large number of new recipes, and AddOn update trauma! Already out of the gate:
