Leatherworking

Leatherworking is the art of creating armor and accessories out of leather and hides retrieved from creatures. Skinning is the complementary gathering skill. Artisan Leatherworkers have the choice of specializing in one of three schools: tribal, elemental, or dragonscale. As is typical with specialties, you must drop and retake Leatherworking to change your specialization.

  • Tribal Leatherworking draws mainly on the special characteristics of beasts to produce leather armor (in general, this armor is oriented towards Druids, with some pieces useful to Rogues as well).
  • Elemental Leatherworking augments leather armor with elemental forces (generally useful armor pieces, some pieces are intended for Rogues).
  • Dragonscale Leatherworking is centered around mail armor crafted from (what else?) dragon scales (in general, this armor serves Shaman best, but Hunters may find some pieces helpful).

Sarah Tanner is at the south end of the Grimsilt Dig Site, southeastern Searing Gorge. Brum is in the Arathi Highlands north of Stromgarde Keep (near 28, 45). You're asked for 2 ea. Heart of Fire, Globe of Water, Core of Earth, and Breath of Wind.

Peter Galen is located near (37.6, 65.5) in the hills just south of the Ruins of Eldarath in Azshara. Thorkaf Dragoneye habits Dustwind Gulch in the Badlands (near 63, 58) close to the entrance to Lethlor Ravine. He asks you to bring 2 Tough Scorpid Breastplates, 2 Tough Scorpid Gloves, and 10 Worn Dragonscales. You may buy the armor (and the scales, for that matter) on the AH. If you want to make them yourselves, the recipes for the armor drop off the Wastewander mobs near Steamwheedle Port.
