Tailoring

Tailoring takes cloth dropped by humanoids across the world of Azeroth (and beyond) and creates clothing and armor. This means that, as with enchanting, no specific gathering skill is required to obtain materials for this skill.

When initially leveling this skill, focus on turning linen cloth into bolts and banking the stacks of bolts. Linen bolts stay orange (automatic skill gain) through 25 and yellow (likely skill gain) through 40. At 30, you can begin to make "green" items which can be disenchanted. These have some resale value or (if you've paired this skill with enchanting) with a source of items to disenchant.

Skill

At 325 skill, Tailors may train the Cloth Scavenging skill which sometimes allows the tailor the opportunity to find extra cloth left on slain mobs - in particular, this means that when adventuring in a party, a tailor may be able to re-loot a body and find additional cloth on it. If a mob does have extra cloth to scavenge, the first tailor to loot the body claims the spoils.

Tailors also learn recipes to embroider patterns into their cloaks or add spellthreads to their pants for the mere cost of thread.

The Shadoweave trainers are found with the Warlock class trainers. As of the current patch, they will train Shadoweave patterns to any tailor of the appropriate skill

Trainers are found in all capital cities and most starting character areas.
