The Ashen Verdict

The Ashen Verdict is a select group of the most talented craftsmen in the Ebon Blade and Argent Crusade. Its creation symbolizes the unity of our forces as we mount this final assault on the the Lich King and his minions. - Highlord Darion Mograine

The natural evolution of the Argent Tournament, the Ashen Verdict represents the forces arrayed against the might of the Lich King and Icecrown Citadel. In order to array its champions in the most powerful arms and armor, the craftsmen have learned to work saronite - especially the primordial saronite found deep in the bowels of the citadel. As with the Kirin Tor (and their brethren, the Violet Eye), the Verdict provides increasingly powerful signet rings to those who prove themselves against the might of Icecrown. In addition, if you gain their trust, the Verdict craftsmen will teach crafters advanced skills and even set bold adventurers on a quest to reforge Arthas' warhammer Light's Vengeance into a weapon of even greater power - Shadowmourne.

The Ashen Verdict is contained within the Icecrown Citadel raid instance.

There are many craftsmen, including vendors specific to each class who sell the Tier 10 Emblem of Frost sets. These sets may also be purchased from the appropriate armor vendors in Dalaran, so you need not form a raid every time you want to go shopping. Alchemist Finklestein (lately of the Alchemist daily in Zul'drak) is the primary quartermaster of the Verdict. Primordial Saronite, dropped by Citadel bosses, is the primary currency for Verdict recipes.

• At Friendly, Ormus the Penitent, the self-blinded Death Knight and Tier 10 Death Knight set vendor, will give you the quest "[80R] Choose Your Path" leading to your first Ashen Verdict signet, a choice of:
  

  Ashen Band of Vengeance (Agility DPS)	Ashen Band of Destruction (Caster DPS)
  Ashen Band of Might (Strength DPS)	Ashen Band of Courage (Tank)
  Ashen Band of Wisdom (Healer)

  Note that you can have only one Ashen Band at any time, but you can switch paths for 200g at any time through Ormus' quest "A Change of Heart."

Reputation from Kills

The only way to build reputation with the Ashen Verdict is to run Icecrown Citadel. An Icecrown Citadel "rep run" involves killing all the trash mobs (including th four "trap" giants) up to the first boss, then resetting the instance. A 10-man non-heroic ICC rep run will yield approximately 750 rep. Running Icecrown Citadel is also useful because the bosses drop Primordial Saronite, needed both as currency to buy recipes as well as craft the actual pieces.
