The Oracles

Oracles Compound

The Oracles are the collective gorloc tribes of Sholazar Basin. They worship and maintain the artifacts left by the ancient Titans, although they have no understanding of them. Recently, they have come into conflict with the immigrating Frenzyheart wolvar tribe.

Reputation from Kills

No known mobs yield Oracles reputation when killed.

Quests

The primary questline for both the Frenzyheart and Oracles begins with you attacking and killing Pitch, a grey lion found near the Skyreach Pillar (50.5, 77.1) in eastern Sholazar Basin (there's a pointer quest, "The Part-time Hunter," given out by Tamara Wobblesprocket at Lakeside Landing, but it's not necessary to start this questline). After killing Pitch, the Frenzyheart hunter Gekgek taunts you for stealing his kill and declares you to be a Frenzyheart slave. Characters must have reached L76 to start these. The questline leads to "[77] Playing Along" for the Frenzyheart tribe.

The area just northeast of Rainspeaker Canopy is rich in artifacts. Look for the sparkly spots on the ground and lead your companion to them. Pick up the artifact he uncovers. There is a small chance he will uncover something other than an artifact (a rabbit or nothing or...).

For efficiency, do this with "An Issue of Trust," given by the Avatar of Freya standing in the middle of Rainspeaker Rapids, as you have to kill the same mobs.

Note that the shards can be occasionally found in the bags of rescued villagers, as well as being ground spawns around the base of the Lifeblood Pillar
[77G3] A Hero's Burden Moodle Kill Artruis the Heartless Chains to either "Hand of the Oracles" or "Frenzyheart Champion" depending on whether you save Jaloot or Zepik.
Artruis is a frost-mage lich, dwelling in the cavern counterclockwise (upwards) from the entrance to the cave in the southern face of the Lifeblood Pillar. He has approximately 130k health and uses primarily a combination of Frost Nova and Frostbolts. At 30% health, he shields himself and thaws his two prisoners - Jaloot and Zepik. You must kill one of them to resume battling Artruis. Afterwards, the one you didn't kill will offer you the quest to change alliances to his faction. Make sure you discuss the desired target with your group before beginning the encounter. A balanced team of tank, healer, and DPS will find this fairly easy going. Many classes that have some healing abilities will be able to solo this at higher levels.

Repeatable Reputation Quests for the Oracles

There are three main daily quests. High-Oracle Soo-say always gives the "Appeasing the Great Rain Stone" quest for 500 rep, Soo-dow gives a random one of three dailies for 700 rep (all of which lead you to Soo-met, found near (34. 75) in Sparktouched Haven), and Soo-nee gives a random one of four dailies for 500 rep. These are available at Honored. Unlike other dailies, Soo-nee and Soo-dow will give you the next day's daily (if different) even if you still have the previous one in your quest log, so you don't lose ground if you didn't finish all the quests each day. Some of the dailies require a flying mount.

You may also kill Artruis the Huntsman to switch between Oracle and Frenzyheart factions once a day, but there's no additional reputation if you don't want to switch sides.

Note that only the Glimmering Pillar has any opposition. You will need to kill several L76 Cultist Saboteurs attempting to blow up the pillar.

Note that when you're in Water Elemental form, you can only devour Storm Revenants, and as a Wind Elemental can only devour Aqueous Spirits; you turn into a Wind Elemental after devouring a Storm Revenant and a Water Elemental after devouring an Aqueous Spirit. You must devour the opposing revenant while it's weakened; if you kill it, you get no credit.

This requires you to attack Altruis and kill Zepik the Gorloc Hunter (saving Jaloot) and Altruis. This is a repeat of "[77G3] A Hero's Burden."

Practical Notes

p>If you want to build rep with either the Frenzyheart or the Oracles, you should avoid doing the Nesingwary quests that build a flight point at the Nesingwary camp. Archmage Pentarus will continue to provide free transport to Sholazar from Dalaran until that point.

The Oracles have a few nice reputation rewards. They are required for the "The Oracles" achievement as well as "Mercenary of Sholazar." The two factions have equivalent consumables, so there's no real preference once you've gotten any faction items you want. Neither is a particularly admirable faction; one consideration is that gorlocs will occasionally drop Darkwater Clams (with the possibility of Northsea Pearls) while Frenzyheart drop Frostweave Cloth.
