The Scryers

Scryers Compound, Shattrath

As the naaru approached him, Voren'thal kneeled before him and uttered the following words: "I've seen you in a vision, naaru. My race's only hope for survival lies with you. My followers and I are here to serve you.

As there are those who serve the Light, so there are those called to serve the Shadow. In rivalry to the priests of Aldor are the Scryers, magic-addicted seers and mystics who seek to probe for knowledge in the Nether's depths. While both work with the naaru to combat Kael'thas and the Legion, there is no love lost between the two rival factions. Voren'thal the Seer leads the Scryers. Once a close advisor to Kael'thas, Voren'thal had visions that Kael'thas' trafficking with demons would lead to dire consequences. When his warnings went unheeded, Voren'thal fled to Shattrath with his followers. Scryers items may be obtained from Quartermaster Enuril and Inscriptions from Inscriber Veredis in the Scryer's bank in Shattrath City.

Note that the Scryers are vehemently opposed to the Aldor. Completing quests or otherwise helping the Aldor causes a large loss of Scryers reputation. Completing Scryers quests causes a great loss of Aldor reputation. It is possible to switch between the two factions by using the repeatable collection quests, but you can never be friendly with both factions at the same time.

Reputation from Kills

The Scryers do not grant additional favor for any known kills.

Quests

The principal quests earning Scryer reputation begin at the Scryer compound in Shattrath City, with other quest hubs at the Sanctum of the Stars in Shadowmoon Valley and the Netherstorm. Many of the quests require Friendly to obtain. Khadgar's "[65] Allegiance to the Scryers" quest (given upon completing the tour of Shattrath, "[65] City of Light") provides sufficient reputation to move from Neutral to Friendly, at the cost of becoming equally unpopular with the Aldor. Completing any quest for the Scryers costs you Aldor reputation equal to 110% of the reputation earned for the Scryers (so a Scryer quest that earns 250 rep will also cost you 275 Aldor rep).

Repeatable Reputation Quests for the Scryers

Through Neutral, the only RRQ available is collecting and turning in Dampscale Basilisk Eyes. Once you reach Friendly, you gain access to "[70] Marks of Kael'thas", which has you collect the crimson rings worn by elves serving Kael'thas Sunstrider and "[70] Synthesis of Power", which requires obtaining an Arcane Tome dropped by their magisters. Returning a stack of 10 Marks of Kael'thas to Magistrix Fyalenn in the Scryers Compound in Shattrath City will earn you 250 Scryers reputation (and a loss of 275 Aldor reputation). Returning an Arcane Tome to Voren'thal the Seer will earn you 350 rep (-385 Aldor rep) and an Arcane Rune that can be used to purchase Inscriptions. The initial turn-in yields ~10k xp in addition to the reputation gains; subsequent turn-ins only grant the increased reputation.
